James Hardway has over 12 years of senior managerial experience with organizations focusing on education and workforce development. He is currently the Executive Director of the Hotel and Restaurant Industry Employment & Training Trust ("HARIETT"), a non-profit institution and a labor-management partnership/Taft-Hartley fund that provides benefits to both members of UNITE HERE! Local 5 and employers throughout the State of Hawaii. HARIETT trains and upgrades the skills of several hundred of UNITE HERE! Local 5 members in the hospitality industry each year.
Prior to joining the HARIETT, James served as the Executive Director of the State of Hawaii Workforce Development Council ("WDC"). The WDC is an employer-led state agency that is the principal advisor to the Governor on workforce development issues, oversees the state's job training infrastructure, develops job training programs, and manages several million dollars in federal grants for workforce development.
Mr. Hardway is a graduate of the University of Hawaii-Manoa.

Justin Jansen has over 7 years of experience with social welfare organizations. He currently serves as a Program Manager for the HARIETT.
Prior to joining the HARIETT, Justin spent two years as an Organizer with UNITE HERE! Local 5. Previous to that he worked as an employment counselor for Goodwill Industries of Hawaii, as a Family Literacy Program Director with the Jane Addams Hull House Association in Chicago, Illinois, and as a youth educator for the U.S. Peace Corps in Bolivia.
Justin is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.
