Guest Service Agent at Sheraton Maui Hotel
Performs duties including maintaining a bank, checking in guests and checking out guests, and doing the necessary and customary reports. Responsible for registering and servicing guests. Has direct, regular contact with guests. May prepare, type and maintain various room or reservations records and reports. Also, assigns rooms as necessary. Works under general supervision. Is responsible for the recording and accounting of guests' payments and maintaining of current posting of daily charges. Is able to operate a bookkeeping machine, has thorough knowledge of hotel credit policies and procedures, maintains a cash bank, and acts as custodian for safety deposit boxes.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Able to type 45 WPM and use a 10-key adding machine by touch required. Basic Math skills required. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook preferred. Excellent oral and written communication required. Must be very organized and be able to multitask effectively.
Associate Degree or 1 year hotel and/or front desk experience preferred.
Licenses or Certification
High School Diploma Required.
Must be able to lift 25lbs from floor to waist. Must be able to lift 20lbs overhead. Must be able to carry 20lbs with two hands, 10lbs with one hand. Must be able to pull or push with a wheeled cart 25lbs.
