General Responsibilities

Prepares, delivers and replenishes food and beverage amenities for guests; services in room mini bar; delivers miscellaneous items as requested by management; assists the Room Service Waithelp in setting up orders; maintains adequate equipment and
supplies.

Specific Duties

•Verifies guest room assignment prior to delivery via the Fidelio system. Delivers
prepared amenities of food or beverage. Responds to changes in room assignments and relocates amenities as needed to insure that the guest has received the amenity they were scheduled to receive. Makes any final block changes.

•Prepares all amenities (i.e. fruit baskets, cookies for two, chocolate-covered macadamia
nuts, etc.). Assists the Room Service Waithelp in setting up orders on an as needed basis.
May assist in bringing orders from kitchen to waithelp.

•Services in room mini bar by cleaning and replenishing mini bar items. Ensures guest is
charged for consumption.

•Orders daily based on replenishing schedule and incoming guests for delivery. Revises,
updates, and deletes items on replenishing list based on daily check out list. Maintains
adequate equipment and supplies.

•Organizes all incoming and outgoing guest amenities. Operates a personal computer
utilizing a word processing program to document delivery, guest arrival time, room
verification and priority. Distributes copies of Amenity Order Form.

•Orders cakes or other items such as specialty wines via intra-hotel transfer or wine vault
in store room.

•Reports all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the
Security Department.

•Provides instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other
emergency situations.

•Responds to guest questions. Provides guest assistance, direction and information as
requested when working in public areas.

•Performs any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned
by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.

• Folds napkins for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.

•Abides by all State, Federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving
alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being
followed.

•Reports all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the
Security Department.

• Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by the Room Service Manager

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of the proper application and usage of housekeeping agents and equipment.

•Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom may
require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

•Must be able to work varying shifts and maintain attendance in accordance with the
hotel's attendance policy.

• Ability to comply with hotel rules and regulations including policies regarding safety.

Experience

• Previous food and beverage experience preferred.

Licenses or Certification

• Certification of tuberculosis clearance required.

• CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred.

• Hawaii State Liquor Commission Management Card (yellow) required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry or otherwise transport items weighing a maximum of 30 lbs.

• Ability to move, pull or push goods on a cart or hand truck weighing up to 150 lbs.

•Ability to perform tasks requiring reaching and grasping overhead, bending, stooping,
squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs and walking distances throughout the property.

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

• Ability to move throughout the work area while performing the essential job functions.
