Head Telephone Operator at The Royal Hawaiian Resort
Supervises and coordinates activities of Telephone Operators. Is responsible for the training and scheduling of all employees assigned to the department. Prepares records and reports as required. May relieve other Operators or work a regular shift at the switchboard.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must be proficient with Internet Explore, MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficient in English as well as a high level of comprehension in either Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must possess basic computational ability. Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks and to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions. Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility.
Licenses or Certification
High school graduate
Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 7.5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. This may include traveling to and from meetings. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, electric typewriter, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
